School Age Youth Advocate
Oswego County Opportunities seeks highly motivated and empathetic individuals to join our After School team as Peer Mentors/Youth Support Specialists. As part of this dynamic team, you will work collaboratively with school-age youth, providing individualized support, guidance, and encouragement to foster academic excellence, social competence, and community responsibility.
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct services to peers, modeling positive behaviors and assisting in skill-building efforts
* Assist in assessing and addressing the needs of program youth
* Guide youth in decision-making processes and facilitate group activities
* Encourage youth participation and assist in planning and executing group events
Requirements:
* Must be between the ages of 16 and 19 years old and reside within the Fulton City School District
* Demonstrate maturity, enthusiasm for working with school-age youth, and ability to maintain confidentiality
* Possess good communication skills and be able to follow directions
* Display flexibility and self-motivation, with a willingness to learn and grow
