Your Next Career Opportunity - Spectrum Vision Partners / OCLI Vision is seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our team!

As a key member of our front office, you'll help create a positive patient experience while supporting appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, financial transactions, and daily administrative operations.

What You'll Do

• Patient Experience: Welcome patients, manage check-in/check-out, answer incoming calls, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Scheduling: Schedule, cancel, and modify patient appointments while coordinating provider schedules and patient needs.
• Insurance & Referrals: Obtain and verify referral information, insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using insurance websites and verification platforms such as Clearwave.
• Patient Registration & Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and obtain required documentation and signatures, including registration forms, financial responsibility agreements, privacy acknowledgments, and applicable patient consents.
• Patient Payments & Billing: Collect copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Professionally address questions regarding patient statements, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities.
• Practice Policies: Clearly explain office policies and procedures, including referral requirements, assignment of benefits, payment expectations, account balances, and applicable charges.
• Office Coordination: Communicate effectively with clinical teams and other office locations to support patient flow, scheduling, and continuity of care.
• Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient information, utilize EMR systems, and communicate professionally through telephone and email.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required; medical reception experience preferred.
• Experience with patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and basic medical billing preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen preferred) and insurance verification platforms such as Clearwave.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including professional email communication.
• Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to confidently and compassionately explain insurance coverage, practice policies, and patient financial responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work Saturdays based on office needs.
