OCHSNER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL is seeking a PRN fellowship-trained DEVELOPMENTAL-BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICIAN to practice at the Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove in Baton Rouge, LA. In addition to robust clinical skills across the spectrum of developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy, the ideal candidate will be able to work in a collaborative manner with other health professionals and assist with program development. Salary offered will be competitive and commensurate with experience and training. Responsibilities: The Michael R. Boh Centers for Child Development in New Orleans, Covington, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette provide independent and interdisciplinary team-based diagnostic developmental-behavioral consultations for infants, children, and adolescents spanning the full spectrum of neurodevelopmental disabilities – from developmental delays/intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and cerebral palsy to learning disorders, ADHD, and motor incoordination – including consultations for those at risk due to prematurity or other neonatal complications, congenital heart disease, genetic syndromes, or adverse psychosocial circumstances. Work with the entire Boh Center team (nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, applied behavior analysts, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, clinic administrators) to improve access to diagnostic consultation and address gaps in treatment. Participate in the education of Xavier-Ochsner College of Medicine and the University of Queensland-Ochsner Clinical School medical students, Ochsner pediatric residents, and community pediatric professionals. Participate in the development of a fellowship program in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Under the mentorship of Robert Voigt, MD, System Medical Director of the Boh Centers, contribute to clinical research/scholarship and regional (Louisiana AAP) and national (SDBP, AAP) academic organizations Ochsner Children’s includes: More than 85 primary care pediatricians and 290 subspecialists across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi. The region’s leader in complex pediatric care, with advanced programs in: Congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation Liver and bone marrow transplantation Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology Advanced GI and Hepatology A comprehensive surgical subspecialty group, including craniofacial and advanced spine surgery The Gulf South’s only comprehensive developmental pediatrics center Facilities & Growth 67-bed Level IV NICU 14-bed PICU and 12-bed CVICU 4-bed NAEC-accredited Level IV Pediatric EMU 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit with a dedicated Pediatric ED 24/7 neonatal and pediatric transport team with ground, rotary, and fixed-wing aircraft support Future growth: construction underway for a new 5-story Children’s Hospital, opening in early 2028 and planned expansion of neonatal services Education & Research Ten categorical pediatric residents per year in Ochsner’s Pediatric Resident Program. Teaching opportunities with medical students from Tulane University and the University of Queensland. Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (currently in LCME accreditation). Faculty who publishes hundreds of research papers annually and lead multi-center studies and clinical trials.
