What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-PACU position at OCH Regional Medical Center?
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for professional nursing care of all assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and within the scope of the current Nurse Practice Act. The RN is responsible for meeting physical, psychosocial and emotional needs of patients assigned to his/her care. The RN is responsible for maintaining patient’s medical record with proper documentation of nursing observation and actions taken. The RN delegates and coordinates rendered nursing care. Utilizing nursing process, the RN is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment at all times. Qualifications 1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure as a registered nurse by Mississippi Board of Nursing. 2. At least one year of nursing experience preferred. 3. Participates in continuing education programs concerning post anesthesia nursing care. 4. BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required. 5. Maintains competency in conscious sedation and special procedures performed in Pre-op Holding Area. Job Relationships 1. Responsible to PACU Supervisor following OCH chain of command.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Current BLS certification
- maintains ACLS and PALS certification
- Demonstration of recent and relevant experience
- ability to meet daily physical demands of job
- Cognitive ability to follow directions
