General Definition and Scope of Job
The Neurofeedback Technician (NFT) will assist in the provision of direct and indirect services to neurofeedback patients. The NFT will respond to a variety of clinic needs including assisting patients, families, and clinicians. The NFT works under direct supervision of the clinic providers.
This individual will assist us in our mission to help our patients along their journey to health and wellness. The right candidate will help us to create a positive experience for our patients while assisting our management, front desk, and medical staff throughout the visit.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up neurofeedback treatment sessions for clients
- Monitor and record client responses during sessions; document sessions details and treatment plan updates in client record
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment
- Follow prescribed protocols and procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients
- Works in collaboration with Oceanside Medical providers and staff to ensure optimum patient care
- Schedule and register patients
- Assist with various administrative functions including but not limited to: answering phones, maintaining client files, and facilitating communication between patient and providers
- Participate in data collection efforts to ensure diversity is captured for quality improvement efforts
- Serves as a patient advocate
- Fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment in the clinic by treating all patients and team members with respect and dignity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or disability
- Willing to assist with special project within their scope of function and knowledge
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment at the beginning of each day and closing rooms down at the end of each day; make sure all equipment is turned off, garbage emptied, and rooms are prepared for the next day
- Stocks supplies and patient literature in patient exam rooms
- Prepare, decontaminate, sterilize and disinfect medical instruments
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies, as required
- Has the knowledge and ability to function at the front desk: appointment booking, check in/check out, and answering phones
- Demonstrates self-direction and motivation in activities which enhance patient care
- Anticipates new problems and is part of the problem solving process
- Participates in patient care audit and quality assurance program
- Performs all maintenance required according to equipment
- Escalates and documents problems through proper channels in accordance with Compliance Programs
- Ensures proper disposal of contaminated materials and specimens
- Documents in patient case/order with dates, purpose, return name/number, and all necessary information for follow-up
- Proper usage of practice management EMR and software systems required by office
- Participates in staff and site meetings on a regular basis
- Support providers and administrative staff as needed
- Provide occasional, as-needed support for primary care and aesthetics practice
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in a healthcare-related field strongly preferred (e.g., Psychology, Nursing, Physical Therapy, etc.)
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- No prior experience in neurofeedback or similar fields required; training provided
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn new techniques quickly
- Compassionate and patient-oriented approach
- Must complete the Neurofeedback Technician training program and obtain certification in the first 4 weeks of employment

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 24 per week
