The Director, Maintenance oversees the maintenance program for the hospital and surrounding campus. Ensures the maintenance program follows all regulatory agencies compliance, including Joint Commission and state regulatory agencies. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, the State Department of Public Health, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures, and QAPI Standards.

Education / Experience:
Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for establishment and oversight of the hospital’s maintenance program to include building repair and lawn maintenance.
- Inspects the facility for proper operation and working conditions. Maintains maintenance records to the extent of malfunction of equipment.
- Maintains and/or oversees repair of hospital equipment; ensures that equipment is functioning properly, and staff are trained appropriately in its use.
- Maintains the maintenance budget for repairs, supplies and services agreements as provided by the hospital Administrator.
- Maintains rounds, including outside building repair and lawn maintenance.
- Serves as an additional trainer to the facility for Crisis Intervention and De-escalation training. Collaborates with the Environment of Care Director when needed to act as an additional competent trainer.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 5 years in Facilities Management. Experience in hospital facilities management preferred.
- Experience in management/supervision of a Plant Operations Department including (EVS, Security, Grounds, etc.).
- Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
- Mathematics, computer, reasoning and language skills preferred.
- Must be able to perform heavy work or lifting and carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects; climb ladders; and use hand tools.
- Has a working knowledge of Plant Operations policies and procedures.
- Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program
