Skills
- Set up host stand for service by cleaning menus, establishing accurate seating chart, etc.
- Greet guests as they enter the restaurant with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Escort guests to their table and hand out appropriate menu(s).
- Welcome the guests and alert them as to who their server will be.
- Alert the server immediately of any new tables as to minimize delays in service.
- Accurately record tables and guest counts.
- Appropriately stagger seating by server/section to keep a steady flow of service.
- Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, items that are 86’d, etc.
- Respond to guest cues to anticipate when additional service is needed.
- Thank guests for dining with us when they are leaving and invite them to return.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Adhere to grooming, uniform and appearance standards consistently.
- Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.
- Answer phones according to the established standards.
- Help assistant server/ servers in resetting and cleaning tables.
- Ensure tables are set properly for each shift.
- Complete all side work as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Must be local to Key West and/or within driving distance to the resort.
- Excellent oral communication skills required.
- Previous upscale, fine dining restaurant or hotel restaurant host experience preferred.
