Position Summary:
The Patient Account Representative plays a key role in supporting clients and ensuring smooth daily operations within the Surfside office. This position is responsible for scheduling and rescheduling new and existing clients, assisting with billing inquiries, and reviewing billing, coding, and compliance documentation to support accurate updates. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a client-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and reschedule new and existing client appointments in a timely and professional manner.
- Answer client billing questions and provide clear, courteous explanations regarding statements, charges, and account balances.
- Review billing, coding, and compliance documentation to identify and make necessary updates.
- Assist with resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy of client accounts.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to maintain accurate records and efficient workflows.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare administration strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance billing, coding, and compliance standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Schedule:
- Part-Time, in-office position at the Surfside location.
- Standard office hours apply; minimal travel between offices may occasionally be required.
