QC Supervisors are responsible for leveraging their expertise and applied technologies to:
- Monitor production and project progress to supervise and direct auditors, technicians, and inspectors to establish priorities, and ensure the department allocates its resources effectively.
- Providing support and guidance to team members to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
- Enforce manufacturing practices and other quality-related standards.
- Create inspection procedures for new products that require fabrication.
- Function as change agents, using Quality Assurance methods to promote a culture of defect prevention.
- Integrate quality processes throughout the organization to drive performance improvement and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) in products and services.
- Apply and analyze product qualification, testing, and inspection procedures, which may include Source, Receiving, In-Process, First Article Inspection (FAI), Final, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) inspections, to ensure and document product fitness for use.
- Implement the requirements of Quality Assurance Plans developed by the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Program Manager where applicable.
- Perform Quality audits as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager to verify implementation or compliance to the Quality Management System.
- Understand human factors and motivation to influence quality outcomes.
Requirements

- Support Management of Quality Control Budget: Provides supports to Segment and Function Management through effective budget management and planning by forecasting accurately, improving efficiency, and maintaining cost control through the identification and removal of non‑value‑added activities.
- Supervise Quality Department Staff: Directly manage employees within the Quality Control Department, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and relevant laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning and assigning tasks; evaluating performance; administering rewards and discipline; and addressing employee concerns and resolving issues.
- Engage with Segment Leaders: Collaborate with Segment leaders to identify key operational needs. Establish a shared understanding of process alignment, distinguishing between service line-specific processes and those that can be provided through shared services.
- Manage Inspection Activities: Oversee inspection processes to ensure they remain relevant, meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Support Supplier Quality Initiatives: Serve as the liaison between Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) and Supply Chain Management, providing timely data and feedback to support supplier quality activities and initiatives.
- Develop Critical Quality and Process Metrics: Design and implement processes focused on Critical to Quality (CTQ) and Critical to Process (CTP) elements to drive quality improvement.
- Conduct Quality Risk Assessments: Lead quality-based risk assessments to identify critical activities and evaluate the competencies of employees involved in these processes.
- Support COPQ Reduction: Assist Segment in gathering Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) data and identify projects aimed at reducing COPQ.
- Root Cause Analysis & Coaching: Conduct root cause analyses and risk assessments, providing coaching to Managers, Supervisors, and Technicians to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Analyze data, identify trends, and lead projects aimed at reducing nonconformances, corrective actions, COPQ, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain QMS System: Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), reviewing and verifying procedures as needed, and facilitating the development of new procedures to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
- Develop Common Operational Processes: Support the creation and administration of standardized processes for both operations and support departments to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Support Management Reviews: Provide data and analysis to facilitate management review meetings, ensuring that business units have the necessary information for decision-making.
- Develop Metrics and KPIs: Assist in the creation of performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with overall business goals and the Enterprise Service Objectives (ESO).
- Support Audits: Support internal and external audits, including those for ISO certifications (ISO 9001, 29001, 14000, 18000), FPAL verification, and other relevant certifications.
- Perform Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by management, within the scope of the position, to support business objectives.
- Support Ad-Hoc Responsibilities: Aid with any other duties as required, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to business needs.
- Lead Special Projects: Manage and lead specific projects as directed by management, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Ensure Workplace Safety: Promote and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems: Adhere to company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems in the execution of all responsibilities.
- Integrated Management System Compliance: Perform all tasks with due diligence, ensuring compliance with the company’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Promote Environmental Sustainability: Identify opportunities to reduce waste and implement environmentally friendly practices, contributing to the organization’s sustainability goals and continuous environmental improvement.
- Undergraduate Degree relevant to position (i.e., Quality, Industrial Technology, Applied Science, Business, etc.) and/or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Quality Control Supervision.
