The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager with completing general building maintenance, including but not limited to: heating and air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical, vehicles, test tanks, manufacturing, and more. This position is located at Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD) in Chesapeake, VA. Occasional overtime may be required.

About The Team
Oceaneering Marine Services Division (MSD) has over 30 years of experience providing full-service submarine and surface ship repairs supporting maintenance and alterations aboard commercial and U.S. military vessels. We are SUBSAFE and DDS-SOC certified and perform high-consequence maintenance on assets that operate in demanding environments.
The Facilities Technician is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager with completing general building maintenance, including but not limited to: heating and air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical, vehicles, test tanks, manufacturing, and more. This position is located at Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division (MSD) in Chesapeake, VA. Occasional overtime may be required.
Responsibilities
- Complete minor building and facility repairs/maintenance.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles and other rolling equipment.
- Provide assistance in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on shop equipment.
- Complete general maintenance of building and grounds.
- Respond to all approved management/employee generated work order requests through the facilities work order system.
- Maintain life safety equipment and perform monthly inspections.
- Gain working knowledge of facilities plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems
- Move furniture or cubicles as needed to support office and equipment moves. Includes occasional interior painting.
- Perform monthly inspections of the facility for safety and material condition issues and report with suggested solutions to the Facilities Manager.
- Provide relief for receptionist when needed.
- Maintain reasonable care and proper storage of supplies and equipment.
- Comply with MSD company policies, safety requirements and Core Values.
- Follow facilities maintenance and inspection procedures, adhere to company policies and procedures and work safely in keeping with the STOP principles.
- Additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a working knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and practices involved in building maintenance and repair (i.e. carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning and painting).

- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, and external vendors.
