Purpose
To provide commercial support to Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group (OPG) and Subsea Robotics (SSR) Business Groups as needed. In collaboration with the Tender Supervisor and with oversight from the Tender Managers where needed, the Commercial Coordinator is responsible for preparing quotes and tenders, reviewing basic contractual documents, organizing and facilitating commercial risk assessments when warranted, providing advice on established contracts, estimating various scopes of work, interfacing between a number of support functions including Operations, Sales / Business Development, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Contracts, HSE, SCM and QA in support of facilitating the overall bidding process through to completion.

Focusing on deepwater installations and field developments, we deliver tailored solutions—from the routine to the extreme. We provide fit-for-purpose engineering design through the entire asset lifecycle, including decommissioning. We contract, manage, engineer, and execute projects using our global vessel fleet, including Jones Act-compliant vessels, advanced technologies, and highly skilled personnel.

- Role provides the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Log commercial inquiries and distribute as necessary.
- Prepare bid cost spreadsheets, price quotations and budgetary / firm proposals as required.
- Compile tender and pre-qualification documents to meet deadlines as required.
- Prepare standard quotes daily and route for approval in line with defined processes.
- Review basic contractual documents (PO's, Work Orders, Service Orders) from a contractual and commercial perspective to ensure compliance with company policies and practices.
- Negotiate anomalies and exceptions within basic contractual documents with clients (e.g. resolve entity issues, applicable contractual terms and conditions, delivery dates, quantity and pricing issues).
- Coordinate the internal inputs into tenders and obtain appropriate advice to ensure a timely and compliant response (e.g. Engineering, operational Subject Matter Experts, SCM, tax, legal, contracts, compliance, HSE, QA etc, as appropriate).
- Communicate with external and internal clients when needed for the purpose of gathering feedback and associated monitoring and filing.
- Update various commercial department databases as required in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance on contractual obligations to ensure work is performed/delivered in accordance with agreed Terms.
- Prepare requests for contractual deviations and amendments in line with changing requirements.
- Prepare handover documents to other departments in line with defined processes.
- Communicate commercial, financial and operational concepts professionally (both written and verbally).
- Prepare and give bid review presentations to management.
- Provide general assistance to the Commercial Department as required.
- Check completeness of department filing systems and communicate discrepancies.
- Compile and update standard boilerplate and other related commercial material.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 – 2 years of tendering experience in the oil & gas industry or related commercial experience will be considered.
- 1 – 2 years of experience working within a commercial environment.
- 1 – 2 years of experience with full life cycle of the tender process and the preparation of quotes, start to finish.
- Competency in operating various basic Microsoft office software packages (e.g. MS Word, Excel, SharePoint PowerPoint, etc).
- Familiarity with offshore oil and gas related vessel services: Subsea hardware installation (Rigid & flexible jumper Installations, suction pile / mud mat installation, subsea Tree / THS / manifold Installations, subsea Umbilical / SFL / EFL / ESTFL / UTA Installations), subsea Inspection Maintenance and Repair, subsea light well intervention (Hydraulic and or mechanical), subsea flowline remediation, manned diving services (air, mixed gas, saturation & diving support vessels).
- Familiarity with offshore Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and ROV subsea tooling supporting the offshore Oil & Gas industry.
- Familiarity with offshore Survey & Positioning operations, both subsea and surface as well as offshore geoscience services supporting the offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
- Familiarity with Oil and Gas Industry Contracts.
- Competency in operating various basic office software packages (e.g. XaitPorter, PeopleSoft, CRM, etc.).
- Ability to manage workload in line with key dates for delivery.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Seek appropriate support and guidance to deliver the required output.
