Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and other culinary tools safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic work environment at all times
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new grilled items and refining existing recipes for optimal flavor and presentation
- Manage food production during peak hours, ensuring timely delivery of quality meals for dine-in or catering services
- Handle food preparation tasks including poaching, braising, food handling, and meal assembly with attention to detail
- Maintain accurate portion control and ensure compliance with dietary guidelines and dietary department standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting, especially with grill cooking or fine dining environments
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in using kitchen equipment such as grills, knives, and other culinary tools; excellent knife skills required
- Experience with high-volume production environments and catering is preferred
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry standards for quality assurance
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not mandatory
