We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant Transportation Aide to support patient mobility and transportation within healthcare facilities. Duties
- Safely assist patients with mobility needs using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Transport patients between departments, clinics, or external facilities while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and patients to coordinate transportation schedules and address individual needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of transportation equipment and patient care areas in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs when necessary during transport and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Assist with patient positioning, comfort measures, and basic caregiving tasks during transit.
- Document transportation activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while respecting HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Current CPR or BLS certification
- Must have a Michigan Chauffer License to drive the facility vehicle
- Experience working in healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient transfer methods, and safety practices including aseptic technique and safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health records EHR
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or requiring hospice or ICU care.
- Strong communication skills combined with compassionate caregiving attitude and teamwork orientation.
