- Tuesday–Saturday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM (solo shift)
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Job Description:
Ocean To You Aquariums is a saltwater specialty retail store and full-service aquarium company in Sugar Land, TX. We're hiring a Retail Sales Associate to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely loves saltwater fish and coral. You'll be helping customers pick out livestock, testing water samples, running the register, keeping the store spotless, and handling equipment troubleshooting on our display systems.
You'll work alongside our Retail Lead most of the week, and cover the store solo on Sundays. This is a growth position — top performers can move into a Service Technician role as we expand.
What You'll Do:
- Help customers select fish, coral, and dry goods
- Test customer water samples and provide recommendations
- Operate Clover POS for retail sales
- Feed livestock per our feeding schedule
- Maintain reactors, skimmers, pumps, wavemakers, and ATOs on store systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues (water leaks, malfunctioning ATOs)
- Keep the store clean and well-stocked
- Cover Sunday shifts independently
What We're Looking For:
- Saltwater aquarium experience (personal reef or fish store) preferred
- Reliable, on time, follows through on tasks without being reminded
- Comfortable working solo on Sundays
- Customer-facing personality — friendly, patient, knowledgeable
- Physically able to lift 30 lbs (bags of salt, tanks, equipment)
- Can commit to the full schedule long-term
Bonus Skills:
- Coral identification and care experience
- Familiarity with dosing systems, controllers (Neptune Apex, etc.)
- Retail or POS experience
