What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Scientist position at Ocean State Research Institute?
Ocean State Research Institute at the VA Providence Healthcare System:
Ocean State Research Institute is the non-profit research organization at the VA Providence Healthcare System. The fundamental mission of Ocean State Research Institute is to promote research and education programs at the VA Providence Healthcare System.
About the Role
Ocean State Research Institute is seeking a full-time Research Scientist to join a multidisciplinary laboratory investigating metabolic reprogramming and cellular senescence in normal lung development, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), and pulmonary hypertension (PH).
Our research integrates human tissues, animal models, and cell culture systems to study mechanisms of pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular dysfunction. The laboratory utilizes multidisciplinary approaches including metabolomics, metabolic flux assays, single-cell RNA sequencing, genetic lineage tracing, and traditional molecular and pathophysiological methods.
