Ocean State Air Solutions is seeking a Sales Consultant to join our growing team. This is not a traditional HVAC sales role focused solely on equipment replacement. Instead, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers understand how their heating, cooling, insulation, energy consumption, and building performance all work together to impact comfort and operating costs.

As energy costs continue to rise, particularly for customers relying on propane and oil, we are expanding our services through a strategic partnership with a solar energy provider to offer comprehensive building performance and energy-saving solutions. Through a consultative approach, we help customers evaluate their entire building ecosystem, identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, improve comfort, lower operating costs, and create sustainable long-term savings. What You'll Do

  • Meet with homeowners and business owners to evaluate comfort concerns, energy usage, and efficiency opportunities

  • Conduct consultative assessments focused on reducing energy costs and improving building performance

  • Analyze customer needs and develop customized recommendations

  • Present HVAC, energy efficiency, and energy-saving solutions that provide measurable value

  • Educate customers on available technologies, energy savings opportunities, financing options, and return on investment

  • Build trust through a professional, consultative sales process rather than high-pressure tactics

  • Work closely with internal teams and strategic partners to deliver comprehensive customer solutions

  • Maintain accurate records, proposals, and follow-up activities

  • Consistently achieve sales and performance goals

What We're Looking For

  • HVAC sales experience required

  • Experience with energy audits, building science, building dynamics, energy efficiency programs, home performance, insulation, weatherization, or solar solutions preferred

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to educate and influence customers

  • Proven ability to build relationships and close sales

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
