What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist II position at Ocean Reef Community Association?
SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist II (AR/AP Specialist II) is responsible for performing routine accounting activities and projects for the Ocean Reef Community Association (ORCA), North Key Largo Utility Corporation (NKLUC), Ocean Reef Volunteer Fire Department (ORVFD), ORCAT, and Friends of the Dog Park business operations. (May vary by company to ensure segregation of duties.)
SPECIFIC DUTIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
- Processes cash receipts, accounts receivables, and revenue collection functions.
- Prepares monthly, periodic, and annual billing.
- Processes accounts payable invoices and expense claims for payment.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
- Completes monthly closing and generates monthly invoices/statements.
- Researches and resolves accounts receivable and accounts payable issues with vendors and customers.
- Ensures completeness and accuracy of all databases and files.
- Makes recommendations for continual process improvements and ensures procedures are documented.
- Assists with the annual financial audit.
- Assists with projects and analyses, and performs other duties, as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of general ledger, accounting, and budgeting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel – Pivot Tables & Vlookup).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Ability to use a calculator with reasonable speed and accuracy.
- Ability to sit in one place for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry a 20-pound box.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field is required.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in accounting is preferred. Experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
Licenses, Certificates, or Other: Must be eligible to be bonded.
A Valid Florida Driver License is required.
Any combination of the above education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the AR/AP Specialist position will be considered.
