Job Description
Ocean Psychological Services is seeking passionate, energetic, and committed individuals to join our team of experts in the field of early intervention! As a Early Intervention Specialist (EIS), you will have an integral role in teaching young children essential skills to support their development.
Summary Of The Position
The EIS will address each consumer’s developmental needs by delivering treatment utilizing principles of trauma-informed care and related early intervention practices for individuals with developmental difficulties and/or disabilities. Early intervention supports will address age-appropriate domains that include but are not limited to cognitive, motor, communication, and social skill areas. All services will be provided with a provider/staff to consumer ratio of 1:1 and will be provided in the consumer’s home. Attendance to client team meetings and participation at those meetings is also part of this role in addition to adhoc projects/assignments (when clinical hours do not meet full time status). The EIS will also ensure that lesson/program mastery criteria is met/determined and what new targets are introduced within the lessons and will guide this process with the Early Intervention Program team. The EIS will also support training needs of new EIS’s, as needed.
Developmental domains that will be targeted for early intervention include but are not limited to: social/emotional dysregulation, speech and language difficulties (e.g., pragmatic), adaptive skills (e.g. eating, toileting, and dressing) and cognitive deficits by addressing age-appropriate milestones for skill acquisition.
The goal is to teach support consumers impacted by trauma and their developmental deficits, through early intervention and trauma informed care, in how to better cope and self-regulate while experience an improved quality of life through acquiring skills training across daily living skills, social opportunities for integration, communication, and self-care while reducing maladaptive behaviors that impede such development, while simultaneously teach parents/caregivers how to systematically teach these skills to their children in order to increase the likelihood of social-emotional independence in their school-aged years.

Qualifications:
- Associate degree required in psychology, child development, special education or related field
- Minimum 2 year of experience in ABA or equivalent (e.g., special education, child development, etc.) with formal documented training
- Must have reliable transportation with clean driving record and insurance
- Must be available to provide at least 1520 hours per week (MF, with Saturday hours a plus!) 8AM8PM Availability.
- Ensure compliance with BACB Code of Ethics;
- Implement early intervention program and related programs to consumers;
- Implement social skills training to consumers (individually or in groups) when needed;
- Data collection;
- Participation and attendance to monthly case conferences and client team meetings;
- Determine consumer mastery target areas/skills with Case Manager approval/authorization;
- Material development;
- Participate and attend quarterly mandatory staff meetings;
- Attend training workshops, when needed;
- Ensure therapy area is kept clean prior to and following sessions by ensuring materials are put back in their original locations;
- Maintain RBT certification requirements for active status, which includes ensuring supervision hours are maintained by a qualified BCBA;
- Ensure all evaluation and supervisory feedback is incorporated into session performance and other related job duties;
- Attend company events as needed; and
- Check and respond to company emails daily (during work week)
- Assist with training new EIS’s by having them shadow their sessions;
- Substitute on other consumer sessions when needed and when available (based on assigned schedule) if assigned direct service providers are out sick or on leave;
- Support operations and clinical development needs of company by working on assigned special projects, when working under 30 direct consumer hours per week; and
- Support client assessment needs (when needed)
- Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 $33.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
