Ocean Park Optometry is a modern, high-tech private practice in Santa Monica, expanding into a new state-of-the-art facility. We are seeking an experienced optician who enjoys educating patients, promoting specialty vision solutions, and delivering an exceptional optical experience.
This role is ideal for an optician who understands that great opticianry combines clinical accuracy, patient trust, and confident recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Guide patients through frame and lens selection
- Educate patients on premium and specialty lens options
- Promote specialty products such as Neurolens, advanced lens designs, and high-end eyewear when clinically appropriate
- Accurately measure, dispense, and troubleshoot eyewear
- Ensure precise orders and minimize remakes
- Deliver outstanding customer service and patient follow-through
- Maintain a polished, organized optical area
- Collaborate closely with doctors and team members
Qualifications
- Previous optician experience required
- Comfortable discussing and recommending specialty and premium products
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Sales-capable, ethical, and patient-focused
- Highly reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Positive, professional attitude
- Comfortable with EMR and optical systems
Preferred (Not Required):
- ABO or NCLE certification
- Neurolens or specialty lens experience
- Premium or luxury eyewear background
- Officemate experience
- Spanish speaking a plus
Schedule
Full-time
Tuesday–Friday: 8:25 AM–5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
- $24–$28/hour, based on experience and performance
- Benefits after 90 days
