What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Design and Social Media Intern position at Ocean Front Entertainment?
This spring, we’re looking for a Graphic Design & Social Media Intern who’s ready to bring strong visual sensibilities and strategic creativity to Ocean Front Entertainment’s growing brand presence. This isn’t a position for someone just starting out — we’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented creative who understands design, branding, and content marketing fundamentals.
You’ll work directly with our production and marketing teams to concept, design, and execute digital content that reflects Ocean Front’s visual identity across social platforms and campaigns. This includes assisting with creative direction, brand research, social strategy, and asset creation — all while contributing ideas that push our visuals forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Design visually engaging assets for social media, marketing campaigns, and website use (Reels covers, carousels, story templates, moodboards, presentations, etc.).
- Branding & Art Direction: Contribute to brand identity development, visual direction, and consistency across platforms.
- Market Research: Conduct trend and competitor analysis to inform creative strategy, content planning, and brand positioning.
- Social Media Marketing: Assist in planning, scheduling, and publishing posts; help track analytics and performance data to refine strategy.
- Creative Collaboration: Work with producers, editors, and directors to align visuals with Ocean Front’s storytelling approach.
- Administrative & Creative Support: Help organize creative assets, maintain design systems, and support day-to-day operations within the marketing and production departments.
What We’re Looking For
- A self-starter with experience in graphic design, social media marketing, or creative branding (freelance, agency, or in-house background preferred).
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects) and Canva.
- Strong understanding of visual composition, color theory, and design balance.
- Familiar with content strategy, brand storytelling, and emerging digital trends.
- An excellent communicator with collaborative energy and attention to detail.
- Passionate about creative storytelling, aesthetics, and building brand identities that resonate.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in graphic design, marketing, or content creation (internships included).
- Working knowledge of design principles, social media trends, and marketing tools (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
- Strong visual portfolio demonstrating design and branding capabilities.
- Reliable transportation to Gardena, CA and ability to work flexible hours during production.
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship with competitive hourly compensation based on experience, with opportunities for growth and potential staff positions for the right candidate.
