JOB SUMMARY
Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino only 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication.
- Acts as a role model and coaches while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, discipline, and evaluation of staff.
- Responsible for oversight of maintenance and repair of all facility mechanical systems.
- Will follow all safety procedures and regulations, and will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, and OSHA regulations.
- Works productively in a fast paced environment and effectively communicates with co-workers and upper management, keeping senior management apprised of any problem areas.
- Responds appropriately and immediately to any emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
- Promotes outstanding customer relations.
- Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum Five (5) Years maintenance and supervisory experience in a corporate or institutional setting, preferably with a Racetrack and/or Gaming background.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of techniques and crafts involved in preventative maintenance and construction.
- Must have experience operating maintenance vehicles.
- Must be proficient in HVAC, carpentry, electrical and plumbing maintenance. Certification preferred.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
- Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL Certification preferred. Must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Record Policy.
- Must be able to lift Fifty (50) pounds and work in all weather, including extreme conditions.
- Must be able and willing to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission and the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all gaming establishment employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Trade School or Associates Degree preferred. Special training in lieu of degree may be accepted.
