Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Mechanic to operate, maintain, and support advanced industrial machinery, including both computer-operated and mechanical equipment. This role involves installing equipment, ensuring smooth daily operations, and conducting routine maintenance to keep production running efficiently and safely. Candidates must be committed to following safety regulations and operational guidelines to protect themselves and others.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, operate, and troubleshoot advanced machinery and equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure proper function and minimize downtime.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment as needed.
- Interpret and follow technical manuals, blueprints, and instructions.
- Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Support plant operations by ensuring machines run at optimal performance levels.
- Follow safety standards and participate in training to ensure safe equipment use.
- Assist in training team members on machine operation when needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, active listening, and ability to follow directions.
- Leadership capabilities and ability to train others.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with experience using tools for repairs.
- Strong attention to detail to identify operational, product, or maintenance issues.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with manufacturing, packaging, or filling machines preferred.
- Completion of a technical training program in machine operation is a plus.
- OSHA safety training is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and repair various types of equipment.
- Experience with packaging plant machinery is preferred.
- Some on-the-job training will be provided to familiarize the candidate with specific equipment.
Compensation
- Starting pay: $20/hour.
- Pay increase eligible after a 90-day performance review.
- Higher starting pay may be offered for candidates with packaging plant experience.
