OVERVIEW
Occasions Catering at the History Colorado Center is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Catering Sales Manager to join our team. This key role is responsible for driving event sales, building lasting client relationships, and delivering exceptional event experiences at one of Colorado’s premier venues.
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Event Operations, you will be the client’s primary point of contact from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience from start to finish.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

· Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests, partners, and employees through all catering, café and sales activities related to History Colorado Center, Grant Humphrey’s Mansion and its partners.
· Sales Growth & Strategy
Develop and execute strategic initiatives to generate new business and increase catering revenue.
· Lead Generation & Outreach
Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, outbound communications, and respond to inbound leads.
· Client Relationship Management
Cultivate long-term relationships to assure repeat business, client loyalty, and referrals.
· Consultation & Event Planning
Guide clients through the planning process, including site visits, tastings, menu customization, and logistical support.
· Proposal & Contract Management
Create customized proposals, negotiate contracts and pricing, and ensure all details are accurately documented.
· Event Coordination
Produce detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and collaborate with culinary, operations, and service teams to ensure flawless execution.
· Administrative & CRM Management
Maintain organized client records, track sales metrics, and manage timelines using CRM and event management software.
· Market Awareness
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in the local event landscape.
· Team Collaboration
Partner with internal departments to deliver exceptional service that aligns with client expectations.
· Onsite Event Oversight
Serve as the on-the-ground contact during events to ensure everything runs smoothly and client needs are met in real time.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years in catering sales, event planning, or hospitality sales.
· Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
· Sales Acumen: Proven ability to close deals and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets.
· Client Service Focus: A proactive, customer-first mindset and the ability to foster trust and satisfaction.
· Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
· Tech Proficiency: Experience with CRM tools, event management software, and Microsoft Office.
· Problem Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve issues effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of catering operations, menu planning, and pricing strategies.
