Job Summary: Overnight Position
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within our facilities. This role is crucial to ensuring the comfort and safety of both employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed
- Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas
- Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for events and meetings
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
- Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to appropriate personnel
- Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines
- Assist with light outdoor maintenance tasks such as maintaining grounds as needed
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be reordered
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a custodian or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including evenings or weekends
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks
