Position Summary
Ocala Fence is seeking a dependable and hardworking Fence Installer to assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential, commercial, industrial, and specialty fencing systems. This position plays a critical role in delivering quality workmanship, maintaining jobsite safety, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Team members will work alongside experienced installers and have opportunities for advancement into Lead Installer, Foreman, and Superintendent roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install a variety of fencing systems, including chain link, vinyl, wood, aluminum, ornamental, access control, and specialty fencing products.
- Read and interpret project plans, site layouts, specifications, and work orders.
- Measure, mark, and verify property lines, fence alignments, and installation locations.
- Perform site preparation activities, including clearing obstructions, digging post holes, grading minor areas, and setting posts.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, organize, and secure materials, tools, and equipment for transport to and from jobsites.
- Mix and place concrete for fence post installations.
- Assist with gate installations, adjustments, hardware installation, and basic access control components.
- Perform repairs, modifications, and maintenance on existing fencing systems.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
- Communicate professionally with clients, administrative staff , and superintendents.
- Complete daily job documentation, material tracking, and other required reports as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite-specific safety procedures.
- Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and skill development opportunities.
- Support other departments and crews as workload demands require.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding outdoor construction environment.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction-related calculations.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Basic hand tools, including tape measure, torpedo level, etc. Drill and impact driver are a plus.
Preferred
- Previous fence installation, construction, landscaping, concrete, welding, or related trade experience.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, augers, or other construction equipment.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain.

- Understanding of basic construction practices and jobsite safety.
- Ability to accurately measure and layout fence installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditions.
- Effective communication and client relations skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.

Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and direct sunlight.
- Work performed on residential, commercial, industrial, educational, and government construction sites.
- Exposure to uneven terrain, construction equipment, and active jobsites.
- Overtime, early morning starts, and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to use hand and power tools repetitively throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate equipment and maintain situational awareness in active construction environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
