Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Entry Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining data in our databases. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle various clerical tasks efficiently. The Data Entry Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data is accurate and accessible for our team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry tasks by gather patient information from various sources into databases and files.
  • Scan and index medical documents: Scan paper documents and index them electronically, ensuring that all documents are accurately linked to the correct patient record.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity: Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient data and resolve any discrepancies, including demographics, medical history, and treatment information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data: Ensure that patient data is protected in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct research for data collection to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized records and files, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
  • Utilize basic math skills to verify numerical data during entry.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline data management processes.
  • Support clerical duties as needed, including filing and organizing documents.

Skills and Qualities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Medical Data Clerk must accurately analyze complex medical information and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of EHR systems: Medical Data Clerks must be proficient in using computers and EHR systems.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills: Clerks must maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring efficient retrieval of patient information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations: Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations is essential.

Experience

  • Familiarity with office software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Experience working with databases is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
