Responsibilities:
- Provide early intervention, mentorship, and ongoing support for first-year students experiencing academic, social, personal, or mental health challenges.
- Monitor student progress and engagement to identify barriers, connect students with appropriate campus resources, and support retention efforts.
- Build meaningful relationships that encourage student success, leadership development, belonging, and personal growth.
- Lead and coordinate the Earn Your Wings and Take Flight programs.
- Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen the first-year student experience and promote student engagement.
- Support university events and maintain an active campus presence, including chapel participation and select evening activities.
- Collaborate with campus departments to enhance student success and create a supportive campus environment.
- Coach and encourage students in their academic, personal, and spiritual growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or providing leadership to college or high school students.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
- Warm and engaging verbal communication skills in both individual and group settings.
- Effective written communication skills across various topics and audiences.
- Ability to create a welcoming environment for all students.
- Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with technology, including PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite, AI platforms, and social media.
- Passion for OC’s mission of educating, mentoring, and inspiring students to fulfill their God-given potential.
- Active member of a local church.
