About Us
Orange County Swim Academy provides private, at-home swim lessons throughout Orange County. We specialize in teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities—including some children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our instructors travel to clients’ homes.
Position Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and compassionate Swim Instructors to join our growing team as part-time independent contractors. This position offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for college students, teachers, coaches, ABA professionals, or anyone looking for rewarding part-time work.
Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is highly preferred.
Experience teaching swim lessons is preferred, but we also highly value applicants with backgrounds in ABA therapy, behavioral intervention, childcare, education, coaching, or other child-focused roles.
Responsibilities
- Teach private, one-on-one and small-group swim lessons at clients’ homes.
- Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Adapt lessons to meet each swimmer’s individual needs and goals.
- Build confidence while teaching proper swimming technique and water safety skills.
- Communicate professionally with parents before and after lessons.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to teach.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service.
- Travel to scheduled lessons throughout Orange County.
Qualifications
Preferred
- Previous swim instruction, coaching, or lifeguarding experience.
- Experience working with children.
- ABA, RBT, special education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or similar experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable traveling throughout Orange County to clients’ homes.
- Comfortable working independently as a part-time independent contractor.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before beginning work).
- Availability during weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends is strongly preferred.

- We schedule lessons with travel efficiency in mind whenever possible, though instructors should be comfortable driving throughout Orange County as needed.
