Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership across departments to promote best practices in patient care and medical management.
- Oversee the development and implementation of clinical protocols aligned with industry standards such as NCQA and HIPAA regulations.
- Supervise medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, including FDA guidelines for medical devices and medications.
- Manage utilization review processes, including utilization management and review of medical records to optimize patient outcomes and resource use.
- Lead clinical research initiatives to advance evidence-based practices and support innovative treatment approaches.
- Collaborate with administrative teams on budgeting, strategic planning, and project management to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain thorough documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring data integrity and HIPAA compliance.
- Stay current with advancements in physiology, anatomy, and clinical development to inform practice improvements.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with active licensure in relevant jurisdiction.
- Board Certification in Family or Internal Medicine (Board Eligible is also acceptable)
- Extensive experience in hospital settings or healthcare management roles with supervising responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of managed care systems, EHR systems, medical terminology, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA and FDA standards.
- Proven track record in clinical research, medical records management, and adherence to NCQA standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Excellent project management skills with experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with utilization management processes and medical development strategies.
