- Leads a staff of 3-12 employees and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
- May train lower graded or new employees.
- Serves as a recreation assistant in support of recreational activities applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreational materials and facilities.
- May be required to help plan, conduct, publicize, and arrange support for a variety of sponsored events, social activities, tournaments, and related functions.
- May be required to operate a government vehicle.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts.
- Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
- This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
- Must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a current valid drivers license.

- To qualify using education you must have successfully completed a four (4)-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in courses related to recreation or physical education.

- This job is open to candidates who live in the local commuting area (U.S. Citizens and Non U.S. Citizens that live within 50 miles of Ft. Rucker, AL). Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.
