- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the fitness facility, including outdoor basketball courts, restrooms, and field and track areas. Responsibilities entail creating staff schedules, establishing performance goals, ensure employees meet standards.
- Budget planning and adjust staffing levels as needed. Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring all items are accounted for. Monitor the condition of fitness equipment, coordinating necessary repairs or replacements
- Oversee daily cash register and safe operations, ensuring adherence to internal controls and financial protocols.
- Collaborate with the Department of Public Works (DPW) and contractors to ensure work orders are completed in accordance with Army fitness facility standards. Ensure the facility is maintained to high cleanliness standards.
- Promote sports programs through local media and marketing efforts. Assist with various sports programs and supporting MWR events and initiatives.
Conditions of employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
- Health assessment and physical are required.
- Must be able to work normal and rotating hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
- Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities.
- The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
- Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and work experience as identified above.
- Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
