Replace electrical components in an electrical distribution system to include subpanels, motor starts, safety disconnects, lights of various types, switches, dimmers, receptacles of varying voltage and capacity; replace defective conduit and conductors with like material and properly secure components; lead team members in the execution of small projects to completion and make certain proper materials are ordered and proper equipment to safely accomplish the work is obtained; work with customers on site and work with them to make certain any issues are resolved. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Plan use of workers equipment facilities, materials on a day-to-day, project-by-project and on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergencies, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health/ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Employee must possess and maintain appropriate Electrical License (Limited, Intermediate or Unlimited classification) or equivalent.

- Electrical workers at this grade make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places. This requires electrical workers him to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Electrical workers frequently lift and carry tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds) and, less often, up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds). Occasionally, they lift or move with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing more than 18 kilograms.
- The work is performed both inside and outside. Electrical workers are sometimes required to make repairs and installations in bad weather; in work areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy; on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 9 meters (30 feet) or more; and in close quarters such as manholes, attics, or aboard ships. They are occasionally exposed to the possibility of injury from falling, electrical shock, burns, and rotary devices such as electrical motors. They are frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises.
