- Performs customer service relations work that contributes toward the well-being of guests and the protection and safety of other employees and government property.
- Checks membership cards of persons desiring entrance to the facility. Uses tact and diplomacy to deny entrance to unauthorized personnel and to those whose dress or manner does not meet prescribed standards.
- Ensures that patrons comply with applicable rules and standards. Maintains prescribed area in a clean and orderly manner. Ensures compliance with fire, safety, and security standards.
- Maintains prescribed area in a clean and orderly manner. Familiarizes self with calendar of events in order to inform patrons of scheduled activities.
- Provides security at designated areas by patrolling the premises to prevent unauthorized access. Performs routine security checks to ensure buildings, gates and equipment are properly locked or secured.
Conditions of employment
- Work is typically performed outdoors, with exposure to prolonged sun, dust, and bad weather. There is a risk of cuts and bruises from flying objects and branches, and serious injuries from operating equipment.
- Protective gear may be required for safety.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Willing to work rotating shifts that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- A valid State's Drivers' License is required for positions that require the incumbent to drive and operate a motor vehicle.

- Must possess excellent customer services relations skills in order to communicate tactfully in attending to the needs of guests and enforce the various policies, requirements and rules of the facility for which employed.
- Must be able to operate and use the various safety and other electronic and automated equipment involved in providing to the well-being of guests and the protection and safety of employees and government property.
