Skill and Knowledge: Must have the ability to follow instructions and read signs. Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment. Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions, and must be able to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.

- Cleaning rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, striping and polishing using light and heavy duty powered equipment. Performs routine maintenance of equipment.
- Cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing toilet facilities, cleaning, and dusting assigned areas. Empties trash. Moves heavy furniture.
- Maintaining stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties.
Conditions of employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Medical examination is required as physical effort includes standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items/carts weighing up to 20-40lbs and occasionally over 50lbs.
- Must meet physical requirements of the position.
- Work hours may involve early mornings, weekdays, weekends, holidays and night duty.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.

PCS Costs
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
