Construction Control Representative.

Duties

• Perform preliminary, in-progress, and final technical inspection of assigned construction contract work including the larger andmore complex projects for which the DPW has responsibility.
• Conduct pre-final and final inspections to determine compliance with all provisions of contract.
• Establish and maintain the official COR record file for the project, recording facts concerning work activity, work force, equipment in use, progress payments, correspondence, contract changes, directives, etc.
• Provide technical inspection support for major construction projects.
• Interpret plans and specifications, discuss proposed changes, matters relative to adequacy of equipment and labor skills, work stoppages and lags in construction.

• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing preliminary, in-progress, and/or final technical inspections for high-value assigned projects; AND 2) Interpreting plans, specifications, and building codes to determine contractor compliance; AND 3) Maintaining daily and/or monthly construction logs and related documentation for tracking purposes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
