Skilled Construction Technician (Multi-Trade)

OBM Construction & Custom Homes is hiring a skilled, dependable, and driven construction technician to join our team in St. Joseph, MI.

We are not looking for general laborers. We are looking for individuals who can think, move, and produce at a high level while maintaining quality and integrity in everything they do.

Our work covers a wide range of construction, including carpentry, remodeling, structural work, exterior projects, and general multi-trade tasks. This role is best suited for someone who is well-rounded and capable across multiple areas of construction.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry, framing, and finish work
• Kitchen, bathroom, and interior remodeling
• Structural repairs and general construction work
• Exterior work (decks, siding, trim, repairs)
• Drywall, minor plumbing tasks, and general trade work (excluding electrical)
• Jobsite setup, protection, and proper daily cleanup
• Reading plans and executing work independently
• Identifying and solving problems in the field
• Communicating clearly with team members and leadership

Requirements

• Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
• Own basic tools and know how to use them properly
• Solid hands-on construction experience (multi-trade preferred)
• Ability to work efficiently without constant supervision
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Professional attitude with customers and team members
• Willingness to take ownership and correct mistakes when needed
