What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager position at Obedient Technology LLC?
Obedient Technology LLC is a hands-on project management and project solutions firm specializing in complex industrial and capital projects. For more than 14 years, we have successfully executed multi‑million‑dollar projects across the pulp & paper and heavy industrial sectors. Our work is execution‑driven, detail‑oriented, and rooted in accountability. Clients trust us because we do not manage from a distance—we drive scope, schedule, cost, and risk until the job is complete.
We are growing and are looking for a Senior Project Manager who operates at the same level: technically sharp, operationally disciplined, and comfortable owning outcomes.
This is a full‑time, on‑site contract role for a Senior Project Manager responsible for end‑to‑end execution of industrial projects. This role is not administrative and not theoretical. You will be expected to plan, drive, and close work—coordinating engineering, procurement, vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders while maintaining control of schedule, cost, and quality.
You will act as the single point of accountability for assigned projects and will be expected to operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Own full project lifecycle: scope definition, planning, execution, commissioning, and close‑out
- Develop, maintain, and actively manage detailed project schedules
- Drive execution to meet critical milestones and contractual commitments
- Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies without escalation delays
- Actively perform expediting functions to ensure materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time
- Coordinate closely with vendors, fabricators, and logistics providers
- Resolve procurement bottlenecks and supplier performance issues proactively
- Coordinate and perform inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and client standards
- Track punch lists and ensure deficiencies are corrected prior to turnover
- Maintain documentation supporting quality and inspection activities
- Plan and manage logistics for equipment delivery, staging, and installation
- Coordinate contractor access, outages, and site constraints
- Interface directly with field personnel and site leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Lead coordination meetings and maintain clear, concise project communications
- Provide accurate progress reporting with no surprises
This role is intentionally selective. We are looking for someone who has done the work, not just managed it.
- Demonstrated success managing industrial or construction projects from planning through execution
- Hands‑on experience as an Expeditor, not just familiarity with the concept
- Proven experience coordinating and performing inspection and quality compliance activities
- Strong working knowledge of logistics and supply chain coordination in an industrial environment
- High level of personal accountability, organization, and follow‑through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without constant direction
- Experience in the pulp & paper industry, heavy industrial manufacturing, or capital projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- PMP certification strongly preferred
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Is comfortable being directly accountable for results
- Understands how projects actually fail—and how to prevent it
- Is respected in the field and effective in meetings
- Values clarity, honesty, and execution over titles or politics
If you are looking for a passive coordination role, this is not it. If you take pride in owning projects and delivering results, we want to talk.
- Full‑time, on‑site contract position
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Immediate involvement in active industrial projects
