About The Role

OB Hospitalist Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable & General Ledger, to lead critical accounting operations in a remote, full-time role. This position is responsible for managing Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions, supporting month-end and year-end close, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

What You’ll Do

• Manage daily Accounts Payable and General Ledger operations, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment execution, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and close activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes while maintaining compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, delegation, performance feedback, and workload management.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, support management reporting, and provide recommendations to accounting leadership.
• Coordinate audit support, prepare schedules and documentation, and help resolve audit findings or recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, process automation, financial controls, and system effectiveness.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Seven or more years of progressively responsible financial accounting experience, including close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and GAAP compliance.
• Three or more years of leadership experience managing accounting professionals, including coaching, delegation, performance management, and work review.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policies, and financial systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, reporting tools, and process automation initiatives preferred.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification, active CPA license, or Master’s degree in Accounting, Accountancy, or Business Administration.
• Healthcare accounting, revenue cycle, payroll accounting, vendor management, audit, or process improvement experience.
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments.
• Experience leading accounting teams through growth, system implementations, or organizational change.
