Phlebotomy Technician – OB-GYN Associates (Ithaca, NY) Position Overview
We are seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our OB-GYN practice in Ithaca, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood and other laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate labeling, and maintaining a clean, organized lab environment. You will work closely with providers and support a high volume of OB/GYN patients, delivering care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples and other laboratory specimens from patients.
- Ensure proper patient identification and follow all safety and infection control standards.
- Label all vials accurately with patient names and dates.
- Determine the most appropriate method for drawing blood based on patient needs.
- Prepare specimens for pickup by outside laboratory couriers.
- Verify that all collected samples include correct requisitions before placing them in the office laboratory.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and compassionate care, especially when working with OB/GYN patients.

- Schedule: 8-hour shift
- Expected Hours: Full-time schedule as assigned
- Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
