Responsibilities
- Must have experience performing mammograms
- Prepare patients for mammography procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam
- Operate state-of-the-art mammography equipment to capture clear and diagnostic-quality images
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluation of images
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records, including technical details and observations
- Assist with additional medical imaging procedures such as DEXA scans
- Stay current with advancements in mammography technology and maintain certification requirements for Level I and Level II trauma center standards
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of mammography techniques, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment including DEXA scan
- Ability to apply aseptic techniques diligently while maintaining efficiency during high-volume procedures
