Location: Ocala, FL (On-site)
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (16-20 hours/week)
Pay: $19.00–$23.00/hour (based on experience; IV phlebotomy skills required)
Oasis Wellness & Recovery is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Assistant who is equally comfortable providing hands-on clinical support and helping run a smooth front desk. This role supports our wellness and recovery services and is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, patient-centered environment with high standards for professionalism, discretion, and accuracy.
You’ll work closely with our clinical team to support phlebotomy, IV vitamin infusions, injections, lab processing, and recovery screenings, while also helping with phone calls, check-in, payments, and scheduling.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Processing: Perform venipuncture for diagnostic/wellness panels; label, process, and prepare specimens per protocol
- IV & Injection Therapy Support: Prepare and set up IV vitamin infusions and assist with administration/monitoring under clinical supervision; support IM nutrient injections per standing protocols
- Urine Drug Screenings (UDS): Coordinate collection and processing with strict chain-of-custody and confidentiality standards
- Patient Intake & Rooming: Collect history, document goals/concerns, and support a calm, respectful intake process
- Vitals & Measurements: Obtain and accurately record baseline health indicators (BP, pulse, weight, etc.)
- EHR Documentation: Update charts with vitals, lab results, infusion/injection logs, and clinician-directed notes
- Clinic Readiness: Maintain clean and stocked treatment rooms; sterilize equipment; manage IV/lab inventory and supply needs
- Answer Incoming Calls: Respond warmly and professionally to prospective patient inquiries and existing patient calls; route appropriately and capture accurate contact details
- Schedule Appointments: Book, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate appointments; ensure proper visit type selection and preparation instructions when needed
- Patient Check-In/Check-Out: Greet patients, verify demographics, collect required forms, and support a smooth flow through the clinic
- Payments: Collect payments at time of service, provide receipts, and ensure accurate documentation in the appropriate system(s)
- Communication Support: Assist with basic follow-up messages/reminders as directed (no clinical advice), maintaining a respectful and confidential tone
- Education: High school diploma/GED completion of an approved Medical Assistant program
- Certification: CMA or CCMA required
- Clinical Skills: Proven competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion/infusion support (phlebotomy certification or formal training strongly preferred)
- Experience: 1 year in an outpatient clinic, IV lounge, wellness center, or recovery setting preferred
- Credentials: Current BLS/CPR certification
- Soft Skills: High empathy, non-judgmental approach, strong attention to detail, reliability, and excellent communication
- Confidently performs blood draws and supports IV services safely and consistently
- Communicates clearly with patients—especially new inquiries—while maintaining discretion and professionalism
- Keeps rooms stocked, documentation clean, and schedules organized
- Helps create a calm, supportive patient experience from phone call → check-in → treatment → checkout
