Oasis Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Full Time, Veterinary Assistant to join our growing, tight knit group of like-minded veterinary professionals. We are willing to train the right individual! We work together as a team to provide the best possible care to our clients and patients. We love what we do and are looking for people that feel the same way. We see 50% Exotics (reptiles, pocket pets, rabbits) and 50% cats and dogs. We offer a 4 day work week with no weekends & 8 paid holidays per year
We are an AAHA Accredited Hospital utilizing the latest medical technology and software to enhance our standard of care. We pride ourselves on constantly seeking to improve patient care and are looking for individuals that are motivated to contribute to that goal. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with the following skills and qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task in a multi-doctor practice
- Excellent customer service skills (phone and in person)
- Scheduling of appointments/surgeries
- Checking in and charging out clients
- Filling prescriptions
- Temperature/Heart Rate/Respiration on all scheduled appointments (cat, dog, small mammals and reptiles)
- Comfortable in assisting with diagnostic imaging
- Comfortable in assisting with venipuncture/IV catheter placement etc.
- Comfortable assisting in patient restraint (cat, dog, small mammals and reptiles)
- Attention to detail is a must
- Positive attitude with a sense of humor is a must
- Good communication skills with both colleagues and clients
- Gentle handling techniques with a desire to learn Fear Free practices
- A passion for veterinary medicine
