OASIS NC is home to Southeastern Autism Academy, a 4th-12th grade private school in Wilmington, NC serving autistic students (Levels 1 and 2). We are seeking applicants for the position of a Special Education Teacher for a secondary classroom. Applicants must hold special education teaching certification and have Experience in Classroom experience*. Specific training, endorsements and/or supervised teaching experience related to autism is preferred. Instructional duties and responsibilities will include small group and individual academic, behavioral, and social-emotional planning and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education plans for students with autism, employing effective classroom and behavior management strategies.
- Deliver differentiated instruction across core subjects, adapting materials for various developmental levels and learning styles.
- Monitor and document student progress, conduct formative assessments, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide social-emotional learning support and implement behavioral interventions to promote positive behavior and engagement.
- Coordinate with peers for inclusive activities, plan transitions, and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment.
