Part-Time Dietary Cook

We are seeking a dependable Part-Time Dietary Cook to join our team in a welcoming memory care community. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing meals, maintaining a clean kitchen, and serving older adults in a positive environment.

Schedule:

• Tuesday and Friday 11:30am-7pm -- Weekday scheduled days may vary
• Every other weekend 11:30am-7pm

Responsibilities:

• Willingness to work as a cook and aide.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
• Use a mix of fresh and pre-made ingredients to prepare meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, alternative menus, special event catering foods, snacks, and dietary restricted foods following standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Ensure high-quality meals with appealing taste, smell, and presentation; which includes taste tests to maintain quality.
• Portion food appropriately and prepare alternate food items or additional quantities as requested by residents or other customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; adheres to sanitation and safety protocols.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures, including proper hand washing, food preparation, storage, disposal, and wearing protective clothing and equipment.
• Adhere to safety procedures, federal and state regulations, and standard food handling practices; report hazardous conditions, defective equipment, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Think and work independently as well as with direction.
• Communicate professionally in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Attend training as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• High humidity, high heat, and cold air in various work areas.
• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, taste and/or smell.
• Regularly required to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
• Willingness to work beyond normal hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment provided as needed.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to work as a cook and aide.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
• Experience in kitchen work.
• Ability to plan, organize, interpret, make independent decisions, and work professionally with others.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
