Position Overview
Oasis Behavioral Health is seeking a reliable, professional, and compassionate Medical Assistant, Nursing Student, or Nurse Assistant to join our behavioral health clinic part-time. This role is essential in supporting our provider during patient visits by completing intake tasks, collecting vitals, and ensuring smooth communication between the patient and provider.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a mental health setting, shows strong communication skills, and manages clinical tasks with accuracy, empathy, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to the exam room in a welcoming, professional manner.
- Collect patient vitals and complete standardized intake questions for all types of visits (initial evaluations and follow-ups).
- Document patient history, symptoms, and concerns accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate all collected information clearly and concisely to the provider prior to the session.
- Assist the provider during patient visits as needed.
- Process medication refill requests and ensure pharmacy information is up to date.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient chart documentation.
- Follow HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times.
- Support general clinic operations when needed.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification, CNA license, or current Nursing student preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical or behavioral health setting is helpful but not required.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable discussing mental health concerns respectfully and professionally.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm in a busy clinic environment.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (or willingness to learn).
