Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician / Property Handyman

Location: East Valley (Phoenix Metro Area, AZ) – In-Person

Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Compensation: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive Maintenance Technician / Property

Handyman to oversee the physical upkeep of our multi-family property in the East

Valley. In this role, you will perform routine inspections, handle preventative

maintenance, execute daily resident work orders, and prepare vacant units for new

residents.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a broad range of handy skills and technical

knowledge. We value a strong commitment to safety, property preservation, and

positive collaboration with co-workers and management.

Core Responsibilities

 Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the grounds, buildings,

mechanical systems, and safety equipment (including fire/smoke alarms).

 Unit Turnovers: Patch, paint, and prep apartments efficiently once a resident has

moved out.

 Resident Work Orders: Respond promptly to daily maintenance requests,

troubleshooting equipment and fixing minor issues (locks, gates, doors, windows).

 Installations: Install household appliances and fixtures, including ceiling fans, lights,

garbage disposals, faucets, and toilets.

 Pool & Spa Maintenance: Clean, brush, manage chemicals, and empty baskets/filters

to keep water systems pristine.

 Exterior & Grounds Care: Maintain outdoor areas through pressure washing, debris

removal, and exterior lighting replacements.

 Logistics & Cleaning: Maintain clean facilities (dusting/mopping as needed) and

occasionally use your vehicle to pick up parts from local suppliers like Home Depot.

 Collaboration: Work alongside team members and external professionals during larger

property renovations; report major issues promptly to the facilities manager.

Requirements and Qualifications

 Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience in property maintenance,

construction, or a related trade. Prior experience at multi-family properties is strongly

preferred.

 Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability

to read technical manuals and drawings.

 Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, climb stairs, and maintain

the stamina needed to work indoors and outdoors in varying Arizona weather

conditions.

 Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required.

 Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, punctuality, and good listening and

communication skills.

 Tools: Familiarity and comfort with standard hand and power tools.

 Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
