The Outdoor Arts & Recreation Society (OARS) is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about the outdoors, arts, education, wildlife, and community engagement. Our mission is to create opportunities for individuals and families to connect through outdoor recreation, creative arts, education, and community-building experiences. As OARS continues to grow, we are looking for volunteers who want to make a meaningful impact in our community.
Current Volunteer OpportunitiesMembership & Community Outreach Volunteers
Help OARS expand its reach and impact by:
- Assisting with membership campaigns and recruitment efforts
- Promoting programs and events within the community
- Supporting marketing and outreach initiatives
- Helping build relationships with community partners and supporters
- Assisting with event planning and public engagement activities
Wildlife & Nature Education Volunteers
We are especially interested in field guides, birders, naturalists, wildlife enthusiasts, and environmental educators who would enjoy:
- Leading educational programs for the public
- Hosting workshops on birds, wildlife, ecology, and natural history
- Guiding nature walks and outdoor learning experiences
- Helping participants develop a deeper appreciation for local ecosystems and conservation
Arts, Recreation, & Special Interest Instructors
Do you have a skill, hobby, or area of expertise you'd like to share? We welcome volunteers interested in:
- Outdoor recreation
- Nature-based activities
- Visual arts and crafts
- Photography
- Gardening
- Local history
- Traditional skills and crafts
- Other educational or enrichment topics
