Oakworth Capital Bank has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team as a Wealth Strategist! The Wealth Strategist will play a vital role in supporting our current & future clients. This is a fulltime role that would ideally be in Birmingham, Alabama or Charlotte, North Carolina although could work in any market with an Oakworth office. Summary:
This role serves as the primary Wealth Planning expert and resource for ultra-high net worth prospects and client relationships involving complex financial issues and strategies, typically including multi-generational trusts, closely held business entities, corporate executives, business owner advisory services and philanthropy/foundations. Additionally, this role will support all markets.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Client Advisors across commercial, private and wealth to develop and implement comprehensive wealth strategies.
- Play an active role in the prospecting, discovery, post-discovery, wealth plan design and implementation phases.
- Lead advanced advisory client engagements in collaboration with Wealth Client Advisors during the wealth planning cycle.
- Attend community and/or industry-specific forums/conferences to broaden relations, network, and knowledge.
- Provide thought leadership internally and externally in the form of internal white papers, presentations, trainings, calls, webinars, etc.
Responsibility Details:
- Collaborate with the Client Advisors across commercial, private and wealth to develop and implement comprehensive wealth strategies to assist high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients with complex financial needs such as estate planning, multi-generational wealth transfer, philanthropy, income tax planning, wealth related business owner advisory needs in preparation of business monetization events.
- Play an active role in the prospecting, discovery, post-discovery, wealth plan design and implementation phases using Oakworth Advisory services tools, investment Management, Trust Services and Banking to implement Oakworth’s best advice to help achieve the clients’ goals and objectives.
- Lead advanced advisory client engagements in collaboration with Wealth Client Advisors during the wealth planning cycle to identify planning opportunities for review and discussion with the client and their advisor.
- Attend community and/or industry-specific forums/conferences to broaden relationships, network, and continually deepen knowledge of trends, practices, products and competitors.
- Provide thought leadership internally and externally in the form of internal white papers, presentations, training, calls, webinars, etc.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 10 years of experience
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Certification Required
- CFTA, CPA, JD (LLM), or CFA designations strongly preferred
- High level of technical expertise working with Ultra High Net Worth clients and families utilizing advanced financial planning strategies, estate planning, trust and fiduciary services, philanthropy, income tax planning and business owner advisory services.
- Familiarity with trust and tax regulations in Oakworth’s markets (Alabama, Middle Tennessee, and Central Carolinas)
- Exceptional relationship management, influencing and presentation skills
- Advanced listening, written, and oral communication skills
- Resourcefulness in finding creative solutions
