Loan Servicing Team Lead

Oakworth Capital Bank is expanding and has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham, AL! We are looking for a full-time Loan Servicing Team Lead that will play a vital role in supporting our business goals and overall vision. Summary:

Leads the day-to-day administration and servicing of the Bank's loan portfolio after funding. Oversees loan servicing operations, collateral management, reconciliations, reporting, and regulatory compliance while ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient servicing activities. Provides leadership and subject matter expertise to the Loan Servicing team and partners across the Bank to support operational effectiveness and client service.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the Loan Servicing team, providing oversight, coaching, training, and accountability to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant servicing activities.
• Oversee daily loan servicing operations, including loan maintenance, payment processing, account updates, payoffs, maturities, servicing requests, and exception resolution.
• Maintain operational controls and reporting, including approvals, reconciliations, rate maintenance, exception management, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage collateral, participation, and syndicated loan servicing activities, ensuring timely monitoring, documentation, reporting, lien perfection, and insurance compliance.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve servicing issues, support audits and examinations, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency and client service.

Responsibility Details:

• Lead, coach, and develop the Loan Servicing team while ensuring service levels, operational controls, and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
• Oversee daily loan servicing activities, including funding approvals, loan maintenance, payment processing, account updates, payoffs, and servicing requests.
• Review and approve transactions, rate changes, and servicing activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Bank policies.
• Manage daily and monthly reconciliations, operational reporting, exception monitoring, and issue resolution while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Oversee participation and syndicated loan servicing activities, including payment processing, allocations, billing, collections, and portfolio monitoring.
• Manage SWAP servicing, maturity monitoring, and other post-closing portfolio servicing requirements.
• Administer collateral management activities, including lien perfection, UCC filings, title documentation, collateral audits, releases, and record maintenance.
• Monitor insurance, collateral, regulatory, investor, and agency requirements to ensure ongoing compliance and timely reporting.
• Partner with Credit, Finance, Compliance, Client Advisors, participant banks, auditors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, support examinations, and enhance operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, improve servicing quality, and support an exceptional client experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; five or more years of Loan Operations experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of loan operations processes, including due diligence, documentation, post-closing, and servicing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive information.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands, work independently, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
