The Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing. The Maintenance Technician II applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position. They need to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; bend and reach for job-related functions; climb up and down stairs/ladders; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.

Key Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing.
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc.
- Repairs and maintains plumbing systems including toilets, urinals, sinks and drains.
- Disassembles machines to repair or replace broken parts.
- Cleaning of eating areas, bathrooms, kitchens and classrooms. This includes the use of janitorial supplies and chemicals.
- Setup of school events. This includes tables, chairs, stages, floor covers, etc.
- Performs preventative and predictive maintenance including lubrication and filter changes
- Requests for new parts and equipment.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience working in as Maintenance Technician
- 4 years of work experience as a Maintenance Technician
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC and carpentry is required
- Must have experience using hand tools, power tools, powered landscape equipment, ladders and scaffolding
